Use g0i in Cursor

A fork of VSCode built around AI pair-programming. Custom models work via Cursor's OpenAI-compatible custom endpoint.

Why pair Cursor with g0i

  • Use Claude Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5 in Cursor without paying Cursor Pro
  • Same key works across Cmd-K, Cmd-L, and the agent panel
  • GPT-6 family + Gemini 3.1 + Kimi + Qwen — pick best-for-task
  • No vendor lock-in — same key works in Cline, claude-code, codex

Setup — 2 minutes

Cursor settings → Models → "Add custom model". Then point base URL at g0i. Works on macOS and Windows.

Custom Base URL
https://api.g0i.ai/v1
API Key
sk-... (OpenAI Key field)
Model name
claude-sonnet-5 (add via "+ Add Model")
# 1. Cursor Settings → Models tab
# 2. Toggle "Override OpenAI Base URL" → ON
# 3. Base URL: https://api.g0i.ai/v1
# 4. OpenAI API Key: sk-...your-key...
# 5. Click "Verify" → should show ✓
# 6. Under "Add model", type: claude-sonnet-5
# Repeat for any model you want in the picker.
# 7. Cmd-Shift-P → "Switch model" to pick g0i model.

Troubleshooting

Cursor "Verify" button fails
g0i's /v1/models endpoint is fully open. If verify fails, double-check there's no trailing slash and the key has no extra whitespace.
Custom models don't show in picker
Cursor caches the model list — restart Cursor after adding new model names.
Tab autocomplete still uses Cursor's own model
Tab completion uses Cursor-tuned models and isn't affected by custom OpenAI provider settings. Cmd-K and Cmd-L use g0i.
